tidy（形容词/动词）：（使）整洁的；（把……）收拾整齐、整理好。常指外观干净、有条理；作动词时指把物品归位、整理环境。（也可作名词，指“整理、收拾”，但较少见。）

tidy 源自中古英语 tidi，与“及时、合时（tidy / in good time）”的概念有关，后来意义逐渐转向“妥当、合宜”，再引申为“整齐有序、整洁”。与 tidings（消息）同源关系较远，但都与古英语中表示“时间/时节”的词根有关联。
